Using the map of acupuncture points, meridians, motor points and trigger points, acupuncture stimulates the central nervous system to invigorate the body’s natural healing ability, release endorphins and promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

I work with many clients that have acute or occasional aches and/or chronic pain. Maybe they have been from doctor to pain management specialist to surgeon but still experience discomfort. Acupuncture can help.

Orthopedic and sports medicine acupuncture is great for chronic or acute pain, sports injury, soft tissue injury, postural imbalances as well as surgery prep and recovery. I use a blend of motor and trigger point release techniques with traditional Asian medicine meridian theory to achieve balance and relief.

In addition to acupuncture, we can add-on complimentary modalities such as herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, cold laser, infrared heat and bodywork to facilitate healing.

It is important to me to be fluid in technique (incorporating different styles of acupuncture and bodywork) in order to best serve each patient's unique needs.

cupping therapy

Dresden Holden Acupuncture, best acupuncture in santa barbara, cupping, what is cupping? orthopedic pain, sports injury, acupuncture for pain, back pain, neck pain, detoxification, fire cupping, acupuncture that works

Fire cupping is the use of hand blown glass cups to create a suction on myofascial tissue. Used as an adjunct treatment to relieve muscle tension, bound fascia, increase blood flow, move stagnant lymph fluid, calm the nervous system and improve the flow of energy in the meridians.

Cupping can be added on to any acupuncture appointment, please request when making your appointment. Some patients prefer cupping over acupuncture and these appointments are booked as 30-minute sessions.
